Who owns my rights?
You retain and own all your rights itself to the Master, videos, photo's etc. Our service is a service for musicians who want to publish their own material. We assist with the music being released on digital platforms, as well as being properly registered with GRAMEX and NCB. So no fancy or obscure agreements here.
ISRC code - why do I need it?
ISRC code (International Standard Recording Code) is a unique identification number of recorded music or music videos. We´ll provide one for you. For free
What is GRAMEX? (Danish citizens only)
Gramex is approved by the Ministry of Culture as the organization in Denmark that collects payments on behalf of performers and record companies, when recorded music played in public in Denmark.
You don´t have to pay to NCB if you release digitally only, BUT If you choose to sell both digital and physical copies, you must register your music with NCB, as there is a fee associated with the release, depending on the number of physical copies.
If you release your music as a "digital release only" - ie. choose not to sell physical copies - we make sure that NCB will have the following information for each number that you publish digitally.
Names: Composer and lyricist
Names of artists / band
This will ensure proper registration of your music to NCB.
Digital Music StoreWhen artists sell their music through iTunes, Amazon or Apple Music, these companies take a commission fee like 50% per download. After that the digital aggregator takes its agreed % of the sales. Then there's not much left to the artist.
Here you can see an example of how much you get paid respectively from Itunes and Nilsson Online Distribution:
Itunes Price album: $12,99
50% of $12,99 (Itunes fee) = $6,495 10% of $6,495 (Distributor) = $0,6495 To Artist: $5,8455
Nilsson Music Shop Price album: $12,99
2,9 % + $0,30 (card payment) = $0,67671 10% of $12,31329 (Distributor) = $1,231329 To Artist: $11,08196
